bastian: well, from what i can tell, there was some kind of incident involving a magic
adept and emperor dertah's brother, cadel. the magic adept was a servant of some kind and he somehow "betrayed" cadel. i dunno,
but this happened around 7 or 8 months before cadel's wife died. i dunno, but suddenly the laws came in, rights to arrest
and kill magic adepts, phoney trials where you get trial in the night and executed in the morning, gone went the rights of
elves, magic adepts, interlectuals and many other scapegoats so it makes you less inclined to admit you have magical powers.
ben: damn, i never knew how messed up the modeerf gov was and my cuz was working for his nephew...
bastian: you're not suppose to know, modeerf nowadays always screen facts from our generation. i only found out from
random old newspapers. but what about you?
ben: well, what can i say? my mother was a faeren and my father mororian.
i grew up in faetae until my mother died from an illness and i had to move to modeerf with my father when i was 5. i visit
lance when i can cuz his so called boss has the best servants ever.
